Do you ever wonder what you were put on this Earth for? What is the purpose of your life? What are you supposed to be doing with your time?
You know, deep, pondering thoughts, lol.
Anyway, I was thinking about this recently and I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me.
“Don’t make this so complicated.”
Of course I asked, “What do you mean?”
He said, “There are two main purposes for all lives.
Number 1 is to find Jesus Christ.
Number 2 is to build a relationship with HIM once you’ve found HIM.”
It was kind of like a light bulb moment.
I’ve always been so afraid to mess this up, to miss the big picture.
Wow! How freeing to understand, finally, how simple this truly is.
To realize I’m not doing it wrong!
Let me explain.
GOD puts an inner knowing in every human being that we have a Creator.
We have a desire to know HIM even if we realize it or not.
We all, every person, come from GOD’S Spirit.
We don’t all have the same path to walk in life but we are all on the same journey.
We all have the same enemy( Satan, the devil, whatever you want to call him) who tries to keep us from ever finding Jesus.
If we do, he moves on to the next strategy, which is his main purpose I believe.
That is to keep us from ever realizing who we become when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
Our spirit is born again and we become a new creation.
We become citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
I will interject right here, there is only one way to GOD the Father, and that is through Jesus Christ, the Son. Don’t listen to anyone who tells you differently.
John 14:6 (AMP)
Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth
and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
The second point the Holy Spirit said was to build a relationship with HIM.
One scripture came to mind immediately.
Matthew 6:33 (AMP)
But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness
[His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
Holy Spirit highlighted “these things will be given to you also”.
He said, “the things are the details”.
Not just physical possessions like most people think (money, houses, cars, clothes, food, etc…) but the details of life.
Your occupation, your ministry, where to live, who to marry, what to invest in, should I buy these shoes?
You know, the stuff you can’t find a scripture for :).
Basically, whatever specifics you need to know!
HE knows everything about you and wants to help you with every decision. No matter how small or big you think it is.
It all comes down to relationship.
This may seem so simple but I urge you not to discount it.
